Bottle 01 2023
Double-wall insulated water bottles seem like they could be a simple product but there are very few out there that work robustly over time. Often seals will perish & cannot be replaced. They can become persistently dirty to the extent that they cannot be cleaned successfully again. Lids can be difficult to close or open without excessive force. Hot liquids can cool inside & create a partial vacuum meaning that lids resists opening further. They glug. They roll. These issues inspired me to design a water bottle concept.
The lid in this design features a single finger opening at the end of a lever which houses a bung. The lid is made from recycled plastic & is hollow to provide insulation at the top of the bottle. The main body is a double-wall insulated stainless steel construction with powder coating in a selection of colours. The body is infinity recyclable. The bung screws in & can be replaced easily. When you remove the lid the wide opening means you can access the interior easily for cleaning & the lid is textured to provide enough friction to screw or unscrew it from the main body.
This concept is a mark one, there is certainly room for improvement. Over the last two years I have been developing a homeware product with offshore manufacturers for launch in 2026. A revised version of this design is on our list to make a reality.
