Render & Colour Weekly host competitions on Instagram & repost only a select few projects from the hundreds of entries they receive for their competitions. They are a well-known brand in the online design community & for Industrial Designers that publish their work online, having your designs reposted by Render Weekly is a right of passage.

My designs were reposted twice by @RenderWeekly (#RWSoap & #RWStool) & once by Colour Weekly for #HeyColourWeekly Smart Speaker Design Challenge in 2023. I am showing a few images from the projects that won the design challenges here.

In brief, the above design is a smart speaker that responds to voice commands with a form that is a simplified embodiment of a sitting person. The stool is made from reclaimed wood & recycled plastics. This is emphasised by each leg being a different finish based on the source meaning each stool will be a unique composition of different leg finishes. The soap bar’s form was developed to maximise surface area, meaning more bubbles and an easier clean.
